As a new lawyer, Kathryn is spending time working in all of McKay Chadwell’s practice areas. She has focused primarily on civil litigation since joining the firm. Kathryn has an inquisitive nature and enjoys using her skills to search for and find just the right case, or the exact piece of evidence needed to help her client.
Kathryn earned a bachelor’s degree from Seattle University, with a major in Political Science and a minor in Economics in 2002. While an undergraduate, she worked for the non-profit organization Community Coalition for Environmental Justice. After graduation, she was the legal receptionist for McKay Chadwell.
After a year in that position, Kathryn began attending Seattle University’s School of Law. She attended school, while working full-time during the day as a legal assistant at McKay Chadwell. While in law school, she was awarded “best argument” in her Legal Writing II final for displaying “poise, confidence, professionalism, and a strong command of the law.” She was also a member of the Asian Pacific Islander Law Student Association. She earned her law degree in 2006 with a focus in criminal law.
Kathryn is also active in the community. She serves as a Eucharistic Minister at St. Ignatius Chapel, and she is a member of the Filipino Community of Seattle.
Kathryn speaks fluent Tagalog. Having a Father who was in the U.S. Navy for 20 years, she has traveled to many parts of Asia including The Philippines, Japan, China, and Korea.
Kathryn is a member of Washington Bar Association, Washington Bar Association’s Young Lawyers Division, and the Washington Bar Association’s Criminal Law Section. She is also a member of the Asian Bar Association of Washington. |
